RATES & FEES
At San Gabriel County Water District, we provide high-quality water and excellent customer service at the most reasonable cost. Our rates and fees cover only the cost of providing service to our customers, including water treatment and delivery and system maintenance and upgrades. As a local government agency and special district, we are not legally allowed to make a profit.
Learn more about your water rates below and watch a video explaining how rates are determined.
|Meter Size||Bi-Monthly Meter Charge|
|5/8-inch and 3/4-inch||$43.80|
The commodity rate varies based on the amount of ater a customer uses each billing cycle. The first 30 units of water (22,440 gallons) are billed at the lowest per-unit rate; water used over that amount is billed at a higher rate because it costs the District more to procure that supply. In addition to covering the cost of water, the commodity rate helps pay for treatment, delivery, and a portion of the District’s fixed operational costs such as system maintenance.
One unit of water = one hundred cubic feet (hcf), or 748 gallons
|0-30 units per billing period||$2.04/Unit|
|31 or more units per billing period||$3.87/Unit|
|Water usage through the fire service meter||$3.74/Unit|
The Fire Service Meter Charge is a fixed bi-monthly service charge based on meter size. This fee is charged only to customers with private fire protection service to cover the cost of providing water for the hydrant or fire suppression system.
